Growing up, I have always taken an interest in fashion. It amazes me to see how a simple white tee can be styled to create an elevated look and how every person has their own twist. I've seen a lot of pairings from different platforms, but I find that my favorite content comes from blogs and Instagram. Some of my favorite influencers are Jean Wang, Camila Coelho, Alexandra Pereira, and Julia Engel. Their blogs never cease to amaze me, and I love their originality.
Whenever I'm asked to describe my sense of style, I'm never sure how to respond. It usually requires a long and confusing description that even I don't understand. I'd like to think that the way I dress is a unique blend of simple, classic, modern, girly, and preppy. It's a look that I've acquired from being inspired by my favorite bloggers, trial and error, and maturity.
I'm not really one to keep up with trends, because I know that they don't all suit me. Take for instance culottes. I cannot, for the life of me, understand what they are. Is it a modest loose midi skirt or are they short and baggy hybrids of slacks and sweatpants? The world may never know... Also, what's the deal with Thrasher, and why must you wear them with Adidas Superstars?
Yes, fashion is confusing and it is easy to get caught up in trying to keep up with the Joneses, but it is important to stick with who you are. My former professor once said, the chances of your genetic makeup coming together to create the person you are is 1 out of 400 trillion. You are incredibly unique just from your biological makeup. Throw in your life experiences and you're irreplaceable.
Cheers,
Danish
